PAULINE DECARMO & TOM MCGILL

“There are 8 million stories in the naked city…”

-from the 1948 film, “The Naked City

“We started with the idea that the piece should have an urban vibe and a sense of a place here, on an ordinary day people live their lives both seen and unseen; alone yet interconnected. We hope that the figurative aspects of the painting, which reflect something of our experience of urban existence, both in large and small cities, are open-ended enough to allow the viewers to bring their experience of city life to their interpretation and appreciation of the work.”
